SUMMER CAMP OVERVIEW

Since 2006 we have been creating a fun, safe, non-competitive environment where kids can connect with riding, nature and each other.

With a 5:1 Camper to Instructor ratio, we meet each rider at their ability, working with campers to build street and trail safety knowledge, bike handling skills and confidence. Sharing our love for cycling, nature and exploration is contagious and look forward to sending our campers home happy and tired with stories of our day's adventure.

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

“At Mt Tam Bikes Camp we live in the mindset that adventure is not always where you find it, but how you find it. Our camp connects kids with adventure on bikes everywhere we go.” - Ryan Loften

We are expert mountain biking instructors, taking our fun as seriously as our safety.  For the past 19 years, we have refined our coaching style keeping riders engaged, while safely progressing their skill sets. Our deep knowledge of local routes and trails keeps the rides diverse and developmentally appropriate. Explore some of the best trails in Marin County with us this summer!

Riders practice the foundational skills of proper body position, braking and shifting before progressing to wheel lifts, bunny hops and drops. With a strong focus on trail etiquette, local ecology, and bike mechanics, our riders can learn to become independent, conscientious, and controlled cyclists.

We teach mountain biking year-round and have an extraordinary safety record with over 4000 campers having attended our programs. Our lead instructors are CPR certified wilderness first responders.

FUN on and off the bike

Our Bike Games, Drills and Trail Rides Keep Kids Moving

Some campers might say out improv humor, goofy jokes and alter egos are the best local day camps have to offer.

We breakup the day by playing group games on and off the bikes and always enjoy cooling off with the occasional water fight.

We CARE ABOUT the DETAILs

A mandatory bike safety check by a professional mechanic is required and included for all participants to ensure that each camper’s bike is safe, adequate and ready to ride. This is a big part of having a great week at camp.
